Pareulype berberata View in CoL

( Figs 7–8 View FIGURES 7 – 8 ).

The uncus is long, bent, broadened at the base, rounded apically and heavily sclerotized. Small socii at the base of the uncus are present. The tegumen is elongate cupolar, composed of two lobes, with a posterior rounded notch, as in Philereme , Solitanea and Triphosa . The weakly sclerotized, rounded gnathos arms are more strongly developed than in Philereme and Triphosa , and lightly attached to the base of the uncus laterally, anteriorly forming a broken medial ring. The subscaphium of the anal tube is distinct but shorter than in Triphosa . The muscles m2(10) extend from the anterior margin of the tegumen, close to the muscles m1 and dorsad of the muscles m3(2), to the distal portion of the anal tube. The medium sized muscles m1 run from the anterior margin of the tegumen to the base of the uncus. The base of the costa valvae is connected to the arch-shaped semitranstilla bearing a small ventral process. The labides are relatively small, partly fused medially and arise from the base of the costa valvae, ventrad of the semitranstilla. The rather short, slightly twisted muscles m3(2) extend from the anterior margin of the tegumen, ventrad of the muscles m2(10) to the ventral curve of a small ventral process of semitranstilla near the costa valvae. The short muscles m4 run from the dorsal curves of the vinculum, to the lateral part of the small ventral process of semitranstilla, close to the costa valvae, with a small bundle connecting the most dorsal part of the vinculum near the tegumen and the suture at the base of costa valvae. The large muscles m5(7) connect the medial portion of the valva to the sacculus, with a separate bundle attached to the vinculum. The juxta is located between the sacculi of the valvae, and the muscles m8(3) run from the posterior margin of the saccus to the juxta medially. The aedeagus is large, with two bands of distinct sclerotized cornuti in its vesica, and with the muscles m6(5) extending from the vinculum ventrad of the muscles m4 to the basal process of the aedeagus. The muscles m7(6) extend from the saccus to the medial portion of the aedeagus.
