Current status: Synonym of Conognatha (Pithiscus) costipennis (Germain, 1856) View in CoL ( Moore & Lander, 2010; Moore & Vidal, 2015).

Comments: The second syntype (NHMUK014380349) has a label that indicates the name C. costipennis but it was added later than the original description of C. splendidicollis Fairmaire, 1856 .
