Holotype: “Type // Saunders. 74·18. // saundersi Thery TYPE // NHMUK011520837 About NHMUK // Hiperantha saundersi Théry in Hoscheck & Théry, 1928 HOLOTYPE det. Pineda & Matsumoto, 2020” . Holotype here recognized.

Current status: Hiperantha (Hyperanthoides) saundersi Théry in Hoscheck & Théry, 1928 ( Bellamy, 2008).

Comments: Théry in Hoscheck & Théry (1928:132) indicate that the description of this taxon was based on a single specimen of unknown origin from Saunders’ collection in British Museum ( NHMUK). We recognized this specimen as holotype of Hiperantha saundersi Théry, 1928 since it matches the original description and the information on the label matches that cited for the “type” specimen .
