Holotype: “ Type // Saunders. 74·18. // saundersi Thery TYPE // NHMUK 011520837 About NHMUK // Hiperantha saundersi Théry in Hoscheck & Théry, 1928 HOLOTYPE det. Pineda & Matsumoto, 2020”. Holotype here recognized .

Current status: Hiperantha (Hyperanthoides) saundersi Théry View in CoL in Hoscheck & Théry, 1928 ( Bellamy, 2008).

Comments: Théry in Hoscheck & Théry (1928:132) indicate that the description of this taxon was based on a single specimen of unknown origin from Saunders’ collection in British Museum (NHMUK). We recognized this specimen as holotype of Hiperantha saundersi Théry, 1928 since it matches the original description and the information on the label matches that cited for the “type” specimen.
