Holotype:
QMF 9132, mid-trunk vertebra.
Type locality:
Main Quarry, Allingham Formation (early Pliocene), Bluff Downs Station, northeastern Queensland.
Remarks:
Scanlon and Mackness (2002: 433) stated that "the limited number of characters identified here for pythonine vertebrae thus imply a position either within, or as a sister taxon to, Liasis (sensu stricto)".
