Isoperla montana (Banks) View in CoL .
This species exhibits mainly a central and northern Appalachian GoogleMaps distribution ( DeWalt et al. 2010). Males GoogleMaps have one spur at the base of the aedeagus, compared to two on I. namata Frison. Nymphs of the two species are currently indistinguishable. We GoogleMaps present specimen data from an Indiana ravine stream. The GoogleMaps senior author tentatively identified them as I. namata , but they were later identified as I. montana by B.C. Kondratieff. This constitutes a new state record for Indiana and large range extension into the Midwest. The presence of this species calls into question the identification of nymphs in the region as I. namata . Further GoogleMaps investigations are ongoing.
