Ceratophrys cf. ornata View in CoL from Monte Hermoso, Buenos Aires, Argentina ( Pardiñas 2001)

A series of fragmentary remains from an outcropping of Holocene sediments at the Camping Americano locality, near the city of Monte Hermoso ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 , locality 4), Buenos Aires, Argentina, were referred to Ceratophrys cf. ornata by Pardiñas (2001). The material, which was reported to be part of the collection of the Museo de Ciencias Naturales “Vicente Di Martino” (MMH 85.3.8; 85.2.11; 88.2.5; 90.2.1), was not described or illustrated, and its taxonomic placement was not discussed. However, these specimens cannot be found in the collection and are considered temporarily lost (N. Sanchez, Director of Museo de Ciencias Naturales “Vicente Di Martino”, pers. comm.).
