Type :— Uzbekistan: Tashkent , Bostanliq [Bostandyk], in a dry rocky channel under a large snowfield, at the top of Aksar-say [in Russian], 24 Jul 1949, N. V . Pavlov 150 (holotype: AA, not seen; isotype: MW!) .
Description:—Herbs, perennial, rhizomatous. Stems few, weakly glaucous, glabrous, sometimes pubescent only in inflorescence, simple or branching in upper part, 45–70 cm high. Leaves ovate or oblong-ovate, 5.0– 10 cm long, 1.0– 3.5 cm broad, herbaceous, green, glabrous on both surfaces, apically obtuse or shortly acuminate, marginally entire, pinnatilobed or less often with few teeth, narrowed toward base; basal and lower stem leaves shortly petiolate, petiole ca. 1 cm long; upper stem leaves smaller and narrower, subsessile. Inflorescence corymbose. Capitula several, long pedunculate; peduncle 1.5–4.5 cm long, distally white puberulous; bracts narrowly linear, 0.7–1.0 cm long. Involucres 6–8 mm long, 6–10 mm in diameter, calyculate; bracts of calyculus (supplementary bracts) 2–4, linear, subglabrous abaxially, 4–5 mm long; phyllaries ca. 11, oblong-obovate, 6–8 mm long, acute, white puberulous abaxially, distally brownish. Ray florets 4–6; corolla oblanceolate, yellow, ca. 15 mm long. Disk florets ca. 20; corolla yellow, ca. 7 mm long, with ca. 2.8 mm long tube and infundibuliform limb; lobes ovate-triangular, ca. 0.9 mm long, acute. Anthers linear, ca. 2.8 mm long, obtusely shortly auriculate at the base, appendages ovate-lanceolate; anther collars rather elongated, somewhat dilated at the base. Style arms ca. 1.5 mm long. Achenes (not fully mature) 2–3 mm long, cylindrical, glabrous. Pappus ca. 5 mm long, white. 2 n = 40.
Distribution:— Jacobaea racemulifera is distributed in China (Xinjiang), Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan (Western Tian-Shan).
