Remarks — The sequenced specimens from Sardinia morphologically assigned to Atractides castor , form a distinct BIN (BOLD:AET6487). The species was recently described by Gerecke (2021) from Italy (Calabria, Sicily and Sardinia) and France ( Corsica) with the type locality in Sicily. The p -distance between the A. castor BIN from Sardinia and its nearest neighbour, BOLD:AEF1144, which includes a specimen from Montenegro identified as A. inflatipes Lundblad, 1956 is estimated at 8.7%.
