The

genus

Pel / oloma

is

here

referred

to

the

Syrphini

although

it

is

possible

that

it

should

be

included

in

the

tribe

Melanostomini

.

The

entirely

black

face

and

scutellum

are

characters

found

consistently

in

the

Melanostomi

.

They

occur

in

no

other

Syrphini

known

to

me

although
