Aquatic or terrestrial herbs. Distribution in PILA 0–1100 m, low elevation mixed forest, mixed forest in transition to low elevation forest. Global distribution: Mexico to Colombia. Records: A. Rodríguez 11243 (BM, INB, MO, PMA), S. Bridgewater 4159 (BM, INB, MO, PMA).
