Terrestrial twiners. Distribution in PILA 0–1700 m, low elevation mixed forest, mixed forest in transition to low elevation forest, mixed forest in transition to cloud forest, cloud forest. Global distribution: Endemic to Costa Rica. Records: L. Acosta 2317 (INB), E. Alfaro 2171 (INB), L. Angulo 142 (CR, INB).
The above material appears to be conspecific with a currently undescribed species identified by González & Poveda (in press).
