Distribution in PILA 1000– 2500 m, mixed forest in transition to low elevation forest, mixed forest in transition to cloud forest, cloud forest, low elevation oak forest. Global distribution: Costa Rica to Bolivia, Venezuela. Records: A. Chacón 569 (INB, MO), G. Davidse 28586 (CR, MO), G. Herrera 3707 (INB, MO).
