Facultatively epiphytic herbs. Distribution in PILA 100–1500 m, low elevation mixed forest, mixed forest in transition to low elevation forest, mixed forest in transition to cloud forest. Global distribution: Costa Rica to Ecuador. Records: D. Solano 4847 (BM, INB,PMA), S. Bridgewater 4224 (BM, INB, PMA).
