Material examined. Golestan province, Gorgan, Tooskestan N 37º 32' 48", E 55º 32' 28", 790 a.s.l., breeding in trunk of Zelkova sp., Sudabe Amini leg., 4 specimens, August 2014. GoogleMaps
This species usually infesting elms ( Ulmus spp.) ( Ulmaceae ), was collected on Zelkova sp. for the first time. Scolytus sulcifrons was previously recorded in Bulgaria, Croatia, Russia, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, Malta, Macedonia, Poland, Russia and Ukraine ( Knížek 2011).
