Type : ― SOUTH AFRICA. Boschjemanland [Namaqualand today]: Bitterfontein , kalksteinhaltige Hügel und karrooartige Niederungen , reichhaltig and Salzpflanzen, 3000–4000 ft, Zeyher 1447 planta alternifolia (lectotype: L, designated by Botschantzev 1974a: 603; isolectotypes: K000243938 !, K000243937 !, NBG-SAM0043483-0!, PRE 0375574 About PRE -0!) .
‒ Salsola zeyheri (Moq.) Benth. & Hook. ex Schinz in Bull. Herb. Boiss. 5, App. 3: 62 (1897), isonym (Art. 6.3 Note2 of ICN).
Notes: ― The type locality clearly refers to Namaqualand that was considered part of Bushmanland at the time of collection.
Distribution: ― Namibia : Sperrgebiet, Lüderitzbucht, and southern Karas region; South Africa (WC, NC): Knersvlakte, Namaqualand, Bushmanland.
