Basionym: ― Salsola etoshensis Botsch. View in CoL in Botanicheskii Zhurnal 58: 822 (1973).

Type : ― SOUTH-WEST AFRICA [ NAMIBIA ]. Etosha Game Reserve : 4.4 miles north of Okakuejo on road to Ondongua, white calcareous gravelly flats, 12 November 1955, De Winter 3610 (holotype LE-00011856!; isotype PRE-0375536-0!) .
