Type: ― SOUTH AFRICA. Cape Prov. [Northern Cape Prov.]: Gordonia, Tellery Pan , c. 30 miles S of Kuruman River , 3000 ft elev., 5 March 1961, Leistner 2170 (holotype K-000243939!; isotypes LE-00011768!, PRE-0375566-0!) .

Note: ― The accession K-000243939! (the holotype of Salsola albida Botsch. is stored in JSTOR Global Plants erroneously as ‘ Holotype of Salsola araneosa Botsch. ’.

Distribution: ― Namibia : Sperrgebiet; South Africa (NC, WC?): Tanqua Karoo?, Gordonia, Richtersveld.
