Remarks.

Lagaropsylla consularis has been reported previously in Madagascar and is among the more common species in the genus, primarily parasitizing Chaerephon pumilus . Chaerephon pumilus has a broad range from Yemen to Senegal, south to South Africa and Madagascar. Neoromicia somalicus (Thomas, 1901) from which Lagaropsylla consularis was collected in Kenya, is also found in Madagascar. Reported primarily on molossid bats, Lagaropsylla consularis has also been documented on hipposiderid and vespertilionid bats ( Beaucournu 2004 and Smit 1957).
