14. Sesleria wettsteinii Dörfler & Hayek View in CoL in Hayek (1918: 206)
Lectotype (designated here):— ALBANIA. “Prokletija” Gebiet [Prokletije Mts.]. An Felsen ober Buni Jezerce [On rocks above Buni
Jezerce], 21 July 1914, Dörfler 537 (WU-0061942!, isolectotype GB-47798!). Image of the lectotype available at http://herbarium.
univie.ac.at/database/detail.php?ID=261202. Protologue information:—Prokletija-Gebiet. An Felsen ober Buni Jezerce (Exs. Nr. 537).
Nomenclature:— Dörfler and Hayek described nine new species belonging to different genera, including a new species of Sesleria using the material collected by Ignaz Dörfler (1866–1950) during his 1914 travels throughout the Albanian-Montenegrin border region. The protologue included a citation of a collector number (“Exs. Nr. 537”), indicating a single gathering. However, sheets of this gathering exist in WU and GB, therefore there is no holotype (see McNeill 2014). The image in the protologue, being part of the original material, was probably based on the specimens in WU and GB. The WU specimen is here designated as lectotype and the GB specimen is an isolectotype. The name of the new species honors prof. V. Wettstein, who, according to Dörfler and Hayek, made a significant contribution to knowledge of the genus Sesleria .
Taxonomy:— The name is accepted and in use ( Valdés & Scholz 2009, Clayton et al. 2016)
