Diagnosis. This species is similar to E. lacustrata ( Panzer, 1804) in appearance and in female genitalia, but can be disparted by the valva without protuberance in the male genitalia, and the colliculum much narrower than the anterior part of the ductus bursae and the corpus bursae with an ovate signum in the female genitalia. In E. lacustrata , the valva bears a small ventral protuberance; the colliculum is nearly as wide as the ductus bursae and the corpus bursae has a stripelike signum.

Distribution. China (Western part), Iran, Lebanon, Turkey, Europe, Northwest Africa.

Remarks. Klima (1937) listed this species as distributed in the western part of China, but the detailed locality was not provided. We have not collected this species in China to date.
