( Figs. 4 View FIGURES 2 – 5 , 16 View FIGURES 14 – 19 , 27 View FIGURES 25 – 27 )
Type material. China: Holotype: 3, Wolong (31°29ʹN, 103°36ʹE), Sichuan Province, 2008 m, 25.vii.2005, leg. Haili Yu (genitalia slide No. LWC08047). Paratypes: 1 3, 2 ƤƤ, same data as holotype (genitalia slide Nos. LWC07471, LWC08044, LWC08046); 2 ƤƤ, Wolong, Sichuan Province, 1900 m, 7–9.viii.2004, leg. Yingdang Ren (genitalia slide Nos. LWC06174, LWC08074).
Diagnosis. This species is similar to E. truncicolella ( Stainton, 1849) in the male genitalia, but can be distinguished by the papilla anale convex posteriorly, the stripelike signum situated at posterior half of the corpus bursae and the appendix bursae arising from the lateral portion of the corpus bursae in the female genitalia. In E. truncicolella , the posterior margin of the papilla anale is concave, the ovate signum is placed at middle of the corpus bursae, and the appendix bursae arises from the anterior portion of the corpus bursae.
Description. Adult ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 2 – 5 ): Forewing length 8.0–9.0 mm. Frons and vertex pale brown mixed with white. Labial palpus pale brown to blackish brown; first segment white ventrally at base. Maxillary palpus pale brown to blackish brown, white basally, tip white mixed with pale brown. Antenna with scapus blackish brown dorsally, white ventrally; flagellomeres blackish brown and white on dorsal surface, pale brown on ventral surface. Patagium pale brown. Thorax white mixed with pale brown. Tegula blackish brown; posterior margin with long white scales, some scales pale brown-tipped. Forewing sparsely suffused with blackish brown scales; antemedian line white, outcurved at anterior and posterior one third respectively, incurved at middle; antemedian stigmata blackish brown, ovate, connected with antemedian line; distal discoidal stigma blackish brown, 8-shaped, connected with blackish brown spot at costa; postmedian line white, sinuate, meeting costa perpendicularly, unconspicuously bending towards distal discoidal stigma, posterior one fourth curved inwards and outwards in dentations, meeting dorsum by acute angle; subterminal line white, incurved medially; fringe white, subbasal line pale brown. Hindwing greyish white, apex and termen covered with sparse pale brown scales; fringe concolorous with forewing except lighter subbasally. Abdomen pale brown.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 14 – 19 ): Uncus ovate, notched on posterior margin. Gnathos slender, blunt apically. Valva broadened from narrow base to blunt apex, ventral margin nearly straight; costa nearly straight. Juxta ovate basally, narrowed to bluntly rounded apex, more or less concave lateromedially. Phallus curved medially, slightly shorter than valva.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 25 – 27 ): Papilla anale triangular; about two fifths as long as apophysis posterior. Tergite eight about one third length of apophysis anterior. Ostium bursae twice as wide as colliculum. Antrum funnelshaped; anterior half covered with dense granules, posterior half covered with dense tiny spines. Colliculum about one third length of ductus bursae. Ductus bursae looped twice anteriorly. Corpus bursae rounded, covered with dense tiny spines; signum stripelike, placed at posterior half of corpus bursae; appendix bursae rounded, arising from lateromedian portion of corpus bursae.
Distribution. China (Sichuan).
