TYPE MATERIAL. — Syntype BMNH 1984098 , figured by Kosuge & Suzuki (1985: pl. 41, fig. 11) .

TYPE LOCALITY. — Ticao, Philippines.

MATERIAL EXAMINED. — New Caledonia proper. LAGON: stn 726, Secteur de Canala , 21°20’S, 165°55’E, 50-51 m, 1 dd (Figs GoogleMaps

2, 146, 147).

DISTRIBUTION. — Tropical and subtropical West Pacific. From southern Japan (Kii Peninsula and southwards, intertidal to 20 m depth on corals; Higo et al. 2001) to Philippines (Reeve 1846). The present material constitutes the southernmost record, New Caledonia, 1 empty shell in 50-51 m.

REMARKS. — Protoconch partly eroded, of 2.5+ whorls, 580+ Μm high, 760 Μm wide at the base, with sculpture mostly abraded Axial threads visible on the last protoconch whorl.
