Myopsocus amacayacu n. sp.
( Figs 67–72 View FIGURES 67–72 )
Diagnosis. Belonging to the assemblage of species that does not present the forewing with the apical margin of some of its cells scalloped. As in M. pennyi and M. caliensis it presents pyriform phallosome and enlarged external parameres, but unlike M. pennyi it does not present the hypandrium with medial apical bifurcated process and unlike M. caliensis it presents the external parameres broadly fused medially and their endophallus is neither elongated nor apically more broadened ( Fig. 72 View FIGURES 67–72 ).
Male. Color. Head ( Fig. 69 View FIGURES 67–72 ) brown, genae, anteclypeus and labrum darker. Compound eyes dark brown to black, ocelli hyaline, with ochre centripetal crescents; antenna pale brown; maxillary palps dark brown. Forewing ( Fig. 67 View FIGURES 67–72 ) with brown spots and hyalines areas, pterostigma brown, darker apically, with small brown spots that extends outside the margin, while retaining its shape, alar margin dotted, veins pale brown to brown. Hindwing ( Fig. 68 View FIGURES 67–72 ) smoked, with veins brown and dotted alar margin. Legs: coxae and trochanter dark brown, femur dark brown proximally, light brown distally, with subapical brown spot, tibia and tarsi pale brown, t2–t3 darker. Hypandrium, Paraprocts, epiproct and phallosome brown.
Morphology. As in diagnosis, plus the following: Head ( Fig. 69 View FIGURES 67–72 ): H/MxW: 1.31; compound eyes large, H/ D: 1.75; IO/MxW: 0.52. Vertex emarginated, medially V-shaped, below upper level of compound eyes. Outer cusp of lacinial tips broad, with three denticles; Mx4/Mx2: 1.63. Forewings ( Fig. 67 View FIGURES 67–72 ): L/W: 2.77. Pterostigma: lp/wp: 2.33, areola postica apically angled, a little wider than tall: al/ah: 1.29. Hindwings ( Fig. 68 View FIGURES 67–72 ): l/w: 2.84. Hypandrium semioval, wider basally ( Fig. 71 View FIGURES 67–72 ), anterior margin concave, with setae and macrosetae. Phallosome pyriform, external parameres widened, distally fused, endophallus membranous, more sclerotized mesally ( Fig. 72 View FIGURES 67–72 ): Paraprocts somewhat ovoid ( Fig. 71 View FIGURES 67–72 ), with acuminate apical process, directed inward, a field of setae and macrosetae on distal area; sensory fields with 24 trichobothria on basal rosettes. Epiproct ( Fig. 71 View FIGURES 67–72 ) semioval, with transverse projection and scattered setae and macrosetae in the distal field, as illustrated.
