Epilachna moultoni Crotch, 1874: 89 —synonymized by Korschefsky 1933: 236. Henosepilachna urvillei: Bielawski 1972: 559 .
This species was described from Lifou (type specimen) by Montrouzier. Bielawski (1963) added details to the original description. This ladybug is widespread on Grande Terre, Loyalty Islands and Isle of Pines (Chazeau, pers. obs.). It appears widely distributed in Melanesia, occurring in Papua New Guinea, Solomon and Fiji islands. Li (1993) stated that only one specimen is recorded from Australia, where this species may not be established.
