Genus Steneofiber Geoffroy-Saint-Hilaire, 1833

Type species: Steneofiber eseri ( Chalicomys eseri Meyer, 1846 = Steneofiber castorinus Pomel, 1847 ). Following Hugueney 1999, the genus Steneofiber “published before 1931 ...(as) uninominal genus group named without associated nominal species is accepted as consistent with the Principles of Binomial Nomenclature in the absence of evidence to the contrary” ( ICZN, art 11 c, i).
