Distribution: Oaxaca and Veracruz ( Mexico) to Peru, Bolivia, and Amazonian Brazil; Trinidad. A Paraguay record is erroneous.
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Includes zarhinus; see Jones and Carter (1976) and Gardner and Carter (1972). May include brachycephalus , see Alberico (1990). Reviewed by Ferrell and Wilson (1991) and Anderson (1996).
