Description. This species is well illustrated and described by Vinogradov et al. (1996).
Size. Female: 8.70–13.20 mm; male: 7.60–10.40 mm.
Distribution. Pacific Ocean: Indonesia; eastern part of the S. Pacific gyre. All records (11 samples) of the present study are from deepwater tows (856–1362 m) and in a small area (33°13∞–33°37∞N, 118°17–118°52∞W).
Atlantic Ocean: Greenland–Norway to 31°N; Mediterranean Sea ; Bermuda .
Arctic Ocean: north of Arctic Circle; around Greenland.
