Ichnea lycoides Laporte, 1836: 55 . Neotype ♂. Here selected. Type locality: Brazil: Bahia, Encruzilhada , XI-1972 (CMNH). (Specimen point mounted, antenna and gender label affixed to paper point; support card; locality label; Weston Opitz collection label; CMNH acronymic label; neotype label; plastic vial with aedeagus.) The whereabouts of the specimen Laporte used to describe this species is unknown. It is not in the Spinola collection or in the collection of the Paris Museum, two likely places where it might have been stored. I am designating a neotype of this genus type to fix the name of this prominent Brazilian species name to a specimen. Klug 1842: 375; Spinola 1844: 22; Lacordaire 1857: 477;
