Distribution in Iran. Mazandaran ( Ghahari et al. 2010c as C. juniperata ), Ardabil (Ghahari et al. 2011a as C. tetrica ).

Distribution outside Iran. Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Turkey, UK, Uzbekistan, former Yugoslavia ( Yu et al. 2012).

Host records. Aporia crataegi , Eriogaster lanestris , Hedya ochroleucana , Helicoverpa armigera , Heliothis peltigera , Lyonetia rajella , Malacosoma castrense , M. neustria , Metendothenia atropunctana ( Yu et al. 2012) . Shenefelt (1972) recorded this species from Arctia caja , Cacoecia sp., Coleophora ballotella , C. mayrella , Erebia sp., Eupithecia exiguata , E. pimpinellata , Hedya dimidiana , Maniola jurtina , Operophtera brumata , Pararge megera , Parasemia plantaginis , Penthina ochromelana , Phalaena hyemalis , Phyllonorycter salictella , Ph. strigulatella , Tephroclystia sp., Tortrix laevigana and Zygaena filipendulae . It was reported from Eupithecia egenaria , E. intricata and Thera juniperata by Nixon (1974) and from Saturnia pavonia ( Mason 1981; Papp 1990).
