Distribution in Iran. Qazvin (Ghahari et al. 2011b).
Distribution outside Iran. Afghanistan, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, former Czechoslovakia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, UK, Uzbekistan, former Yugoslavia ( Yu et al. 2012), Estonia, Morocco, Scotland ( Shenefelt 1972).
Host records. This species has been reported from a large number of lepidopterous hosts ( Shenefelt 1972; Yu et al. 2012). In Europe, it has been reported from Odontoptera bidentata , Colotois pennaria ( Fahringer 1936; Yu et al. 2012), Phigalia pilosaria ( Fahringer 1936; Tobias 1986), In Japan from Phigalia simosaria ( Watanabe 1937) . It has been reported as a common gregarious parasitoid of a wide range of hosts mostly of the family Geometridae , Biston betularia , B. strataria , Lycia hirtaria , Hypomecis punctinalis , Campaea margaritata , Ennomos quercinaria , Odontopera bidentata, Seleniadentaria , S. lunularia . It has been also bred from Hypomecis roboraria , Brachionycha sphinx , Diloba caeruleocephala , Phyllororycter oxyacanthae , Cerura vinula , Poecilocampa populi ( Nixon 1974; Yu et al. 2012). Yu et al. reported it also from Acrolyta marginata , A. pseudonens , Acronicta auricoma , Aglais urticae , Agrotis segetum , Aletia litoralis , Anacampsis populella , Angerona prunaria , Aphantopus hyperantus , Aporia crataegi , Arctia caja , Autographa gamma , Baryscapus galactopus , Bathythrix aerea , Caradrina morpheus , Carcharodus alceae , Catolaccus ater , Catocala promissa , C. sponsa , C. vinula , Cnaemidophorus rhododactylus , Colias hyale , Cyclophora pendularia , C. punctaria , Dendrolimus sibiricus , Diacrisia sannio , Diaglyptidea conformis , Diarsia brunnea , Dibrachys microgastri , Drymonia dodonaea , D. ruficornis , Dysstroma truncata , Ennomos alniaria , E. erosaria , Epirrhoe galiata , Etiella zinckenella , Euphydryas maturna , Eupithecia intricata , E. pinpinellata , E. pusillata , Eupsilia tranversa , Eurodryas aurinia , Eurytoma strigifrons , Evergestis forficalis , Furcula bifida , Gelis agilis , G. discedens , G. intermedius , Hadena filigramma , Hedya pruniana , Heliothis peltigera , Hydriomena impulvata , Ipimorpha subtusa , Issoria lathonia , Jodis lactearia , Lacanobia oleracea , L. suasa , Lasiocampa trifolii , Lycaena tityrus , Lymantria dispar , Lysandra coridon , Lysibia nana , Macaria wauaria , Macrothylacia rubi , Malacosoma castrense , M. neustria , Mesochorus angustatus , M. discitergus , M. pictilis , Minotetrastichus frontalis , Ochropleura praecox , Operophtera brumata , Pandemis cerasana , Parexamis fugax , Perizoma alchemillata , Pieris rapae , Polygonia c-album , Polyommatus dorylas , Pseudoterpna pruinata , Psychophagus omnivorus , Ptilodon capucina , Selenia tetralunaria , Simyra dentinosa , Spodoptera exigua , Tethea or, Tetrastichus sinope , Thera juniperata , Trichiura crataegi , Triodia sylvina , Utetheisa jacobaeae , Vanessa atalanta , V. ca rd ui, Zygaena filipendulae .
