Distribution in Iran. Golestan, Mazandaran (Ghahari et al. 2011), Iran (no locality cited) ( Aubert 1966).
Distribution outside Iran. Afghanistan, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, UK, Uzbekistan, former Yugoslavia ( Yu et al. 2012).
Host records. Orthosia gracilis , Xestia stigmatica , Leptidia sinapis ( Shenefelt 1972; Yu et al. 2012), Cucullia absinthii , Dasychira pudibunda , Melitaea Aurelia , Phragmatobia fuliginosa ( Shenefelt 1972) . In Europe, it has been reported from Clostera anastomosis , Acronicta rumicis , Catocala nupta , Cucullia asteris , Orthocia incerta , Diachrysia chrysitis , Autographa gamma , Lacanobia pisi , Noctua pronuba , N. fimbria , Xylina exoleta ( Fahringer 1936; Yu et al. 2012); in Japan, from Mamestra brassicae , Xestia c-nigrum ( Watanabe 1937; Yu et al. 2012) and Phytometra ornatissima ( Watanabe 1937) . Also, it has been reported from Maniola jurtina , Pyronia tithonus , Anarta myrtilli ( Nixon 1974; Yu et al. 2012). Yu et al. (2012) reported it from Acrolyta nens , A. rufocincta , Acronicta aceris , A. euphorbiae , A. leporina , A. urticae , Agrotis clavis , A. segetum , Ancylis laetana , Antoculeora ornatissima , Aporia crataegi , Arctia tigrina , Bathythrix aerea , Bombyx mori , Callistege mi, Calliteara pudibunda , Catolaccus ater , Cerastis rubricosa , Chaetostomella cylindrica , Chersotis rectangula , Cucullia argentea , C. artemisiae , C. lucifuga , Dendrolimus pini , Diaphora mendica , Dibrachys cavus , D. microgastri , Discestra trifolii , Dyspessa ulula , Eriogaster lanestris , Eupithecia abbreviata , E. innitata , E. tripunctaria , Euproctis chrysorrhoea , Eupsilia transversa , Eurodryas aurinia , Euxoa temera , E. tritici , Gelis acarorum , G. agilis , G. anthracinus , G. cinctus , G. nigritulus , G. proximus , G. rufogaster , G. spurius , Graphiphora augur , Lacanobia oleracea , Loxostege sticticalis , Lymantria dispar , Lysibia nana , Mesochorus acuminatus , M. discitergus , M. fuscicornis , M. olerum , M. velox , Neochrysocharis albiscapus , Ocnogyna boetica , O. loewii , O. gothica , O. incerta , Ostrinia nubilalis , Pararge aegeria , Pegomya conformis , Pexicopia malvella , Phalera bucephala , Phigalia pilosaria , Pieris brassicae , Plebejus (Plebejidea) loewii , Plutella xylostella , Psychophagus omnivorus , Pteromalus microgastris , P. semotus , Pyrausta cingulata , P. purpuralis , P. sanguinalis , Spilosoma lubricipedum , Tortrix viridana , Vanessa indica , Xestia exoleta , X. triangulum , X. vetusta , Yponomeuta malinella , Zygaena filipendulae . In former Czechoslovakia, it has been reported from Eurois occulta , while in Greece from Aglais io ( Tobias 1986; Yu et al. 2012).
