Type host. Green sandpiper, Tringa ochropus Linnaeus (Syn. Totanus ochropus Temminck ) ( Charadriiformes : Scolopacidae ).
Type locality. Italy; specific type locality unknown.
Remarks. In the original description of Cyclocoelum exile Stossich, 1902 only a body length and width was provided. This species was considered as the type species for Cycloprimum (= Cyclocoelum ) by Witenberg (1923); Yamaguti (1958, 1971). It was considered to be a synonym of Cyclocoelum obscurum ( Leidy, 1887) by Dubois (1959). This species has a genital pore that is located posterior to the mid-level of the pharynx (postpharyngeal) and the vitelline fields are not confluent posteriorly, placing it in Selfcoelum . No oral or ventral sucker described— Stossich (1902).
