Type host. Black - winged or common stilt, Himantopus himantopus (Linnaeus) ( Charadriiformes : Recurvirostridae ).
Type locality. Republic of Ghana (previously Ghana); specific type locality unknown.
Remarks. Although this species was originally described as Haematotrephus robustum Ukoli, 1968 , it was not listed by Yamaguti (1971). Presence or absence of oral and/or ventral sucker is unknown. Ukoli (1968) could not be obtained and therefore this species could not be included in the tables or keys. In our opinion this species should be considered to be a species inquirenda.
