H. phaneropsolus Stossich, 1902 View in CoL

Type host. Tringa sp. (Syn: species of Totanus Bechstein ) ( Charadriiformes : Scolopacidae ).

Type locality. Japan; specific type locality unknown.

Previously proposed synonym. Corpopyrum longisacculatum Yamaguti, 1933 and Cyclocoelum (Haematotrephus) phaneropsolus ( Stossich, 1902) — Dubois (1959).

Remarks. This species was transferred to Corpopyrum (= Haematotrephus ) by Yamaguti (1971). It was considered to be a synonym of H. lanceolatum ( Wedl, 1858) by Macko & Feige (1960) and of Cyclocoelum brasilianum Stossich, 1902 (= Selfcoelum brasilianum [ Stossich, 1902] n. comb.) by Morishita (1924). Stossich (1902) provided only a body size for this species (9,000 x 3,000). It has a pretesticular ovary that forms a triangle with the diagonal testes (Haematotrephinae), a postpharyngeal genital pore and the vitelline fields are not confluent posterior, placing it in Haematotrephus . No oral or ventral sucker described—Stossich (1902).
