(Members of this genus have a postpharyngeal genital pore, the vitelline fields are not confluent posteriorly and the testes are side by side or nearly so) ( Table 13 View TABLE 13 )
Diagnosis. Cyclocoelidae ; Haematotrephinae. Body, lanceolate to linguiform, sometimes tapered anteriorly. Rudimentary oral sucker occasionally present; rudimentary ventral sucker generally absent. Genital pore postpharyngeal. Ovary pretesticular forming triangle with side by side testes near posterior arch of cyclocoel. Uterine coils generally overreaching ceca laterally to some extent, generally not invading posttesticular space. Vitelline fields not confluent posteriorly. All but W. facioi ( Brenes & Arroyo, 1962) n. comb. from Jacana spinosa spinosa ( Charadriiformes : Jacanidae ) parasites in air sacs and lungs of charadriiform birds, mostly scolopacids.
