(Members of this genus have a postpharyngeal genital pore, the testes are relatively close together and immediately anterior to ovary in the posterior end of the body, and the vitelline fields are confluent posteriorly)
Diagnosis. Cyclocoelidae ; Ophthalmophaginae. Body, linguiform, tapered anteriorly. Rudimentary oral sucker and rudimentary ventral sucker absent in P. vanbenedeni Witenberg, 1923 , only species currently assigned to genus. Genital pore postpharyngeal. posttesticular ovary in straight line with nearly tandem testes near posterior arch of cyclocoel. Uterine coils overreaching ceca laterally, surpassing testes posteriorly into posttesticular space in P. vanbenedeni . Vitelline fields confluent posteriorly. Parasites in infraorbital and nasal sinuses of birds.
