This species is restricted to the Northeast Region of Brazil, but has not been cited for the states of Alagoas, Paraíba, and Rio Grande do Norte ( BFG 2015). It has been recorded near rivers and lakes in semideciduous forest, in Atlantic Forest fragments. In RN, it was recorded for only one locality near rivers in caatinga vegetation. Its habitat is threatened because of agriculture and extensive livestock practices. Due to insufficient data to assess the conservation status, the species was classified as DD.
