Castaneira quadrimaculata Reimoser, 1934: 490 , fig. 13 (♂).

Remarks. Reimoser (1934) described C. quadrimaculata based on a single male specimen collected from Kokumalai in Tamil Nadu. The type material of this species was not available for this study, as it is currently not in NHM, Vienna (Hörweg, pers. comm.). From the original description ( Reimoser 1934), it is clear that this species has recurved AER and PER, indicating that it is not a member of Castianeira , which has procurved PER. This supports the opinion of Deeleman-Reinhold (2001), that this species may be a junior synonym of Apochinomma nitidum (Thorell, 1895) . The validity of this species, however, remains unchallenged until the type material is located and can be examined.
