Pseudoscymnus bivalvis Yu, 1997: 720 (type locality: Longmenhe National Forest Park, Xingshan, Hubei, China).— Pang et al. 2004: 86; Kovář 2007: 582.
Sasajiscymnus hivalvis: Iqbal et al. 2020: 387 [Misspelling].
Diagnosis. This species is similar to S. curvatus ( Yu, 1999) in structures of the male genitalia, but can be distinguished from the later by the black elytra with yellowish brown apices, and the parameres about 1/2 as long as penis guide ( Figs 39a–b, 39g View FIGURE 39 ). In S. curvatus , elytra are black with two C-shaped yellow marking and parameres are about 1/3 as long as penis guide ( Figs 28a–b, 28g View FIGURE 28 ).
Description. TL: 1.98–2.68 mm, TW: 1.43–2.06 mm, TH: 0.95–1.21 mm.
Body oval, moderately convex, surfaces covered with short pubescence ( Figs 39a–c View FIGURE 39 ). Head yellowish brown with interocular distance distinctly greater than eye width in frontal view. Pronotum yellowish brown. Scutellar shield black. Elytra black with yellowish brown apices. Ventral surfaces yellowish brown to black. Legs yellowish brown. Abdominal postcoxal lines incomplete, recurved toward the base of ventrite ( Fig. 39d View FIGURE 39 ).
Male genitalia: Penis stout, penis capsule with stout outer arm and long inner one, apex of penis constricted with membranous appendage ( Figs 39e–f View FIGURE 39 ). Penis guide with prominent keel at base in lateral view, then tapering towards pointed apex; parameres about 1/2 as long as penis guide, with a tuft of long setae at apex; penis guide approximately parallel sided for basal 1/ 3 in ventral view, apically pointed ( Figs 39g –h View FIGURE 39 ).
Female genitalia: Coxites elongate, triangular; styli well developed with terminal setae; spermatheca distinctly curved, with basal ramus and elongate nodulus ( Figs 3b, 3f View FIGURE 3 ).
