• Medium-sized to large monkeys with long limbs or shorter limbs and more robust, howlers with enlarged voice-box and head set low on shoulders (hunched), dense and woolly or long and coarse fur, and long, strong, prehensile tail.

• 5 genera, 25 species, 42 taxa.
