Type.
USA, probably Arizona, near Gila river, June 1850, parasitic on Psorothamnus emoryi (A. Gray) Rydb., G. Thurber 682 (NY).
Note.
Tepals white, red to brown, in 3 whorls, each with 3 or 4 tepals, rarely more (Fig. 6B). Growing in branches of Dalea , Parosela and Psorothamnus in the southern United States of America and Mexico ( Figs 2 View Figure 2 , 3 View Figure 3 ). New York (NY) has a specimen from Mexico of this species annotated as " Pilostyles mortoni ", a nomen nudum, by Ida de Vattimo in 1952.
