Illustrated material. Juvenile carapace (A-1), Nº. DGEO-CTG-UFPE-1508, depth 3.1 m; Nº. DGEO-CTG-UFPE- 1509, depth 4.05 m and Nº. DGEO-CTG-UFPE-1510, depth 3.1 m.
Dimension. Nº. DGEO-CTG-UFPE-1508 ( Fig. 3G View FIGURE 3 ); L= (LV) 1,045 / ( RV) 1.173 mm, H= 0.69 mm, and W= 0.744 mm.
Comparison. Material compared to P. micropapillosa (Nº. DGEO-CTG-UFPE-1164) described and deposited by Tome et al. (2014) in the Ivan de Medeiros Tinoco Microfossils Collection.
Occurrence and associated fauna. It was recorded in the Santo Antônio section, at the following depths (from base to top): 1.8; 2.65; 3.1; 4.25; 5.25; 4.25; 5.35 and 5.55 m. P. micropapillosa is not associated with the species Alicenulla cf. leguminella , Dicrorygma ( Orthorygma ?) dimorpha and the species of the genus Perissocytheridea .
Observations. P. micropapillosa was not found in the same abundance as the other species of Pattersoncypris so it is noteworthy because this genus was described for the first time in this basin. Further studies are required to assess whether this species is a synonym of P. salitrensis or P. angulata .
Stratigraphic distribution. Brazil, Araripe Basin, Santana Group, Romualdo Formation (Silva Telles Jr. & Viana 1990; Poropat & Colin 2012b), interval dated as Aptian ( Regali 1990; Coimbra et al. 2002). Potiguar Basin, Alagamar Formation, Aptian ( Do Carmo et al. 2008). Cedro Basin, Crato Formation, interval dated as Aptian (Tomé 2007; Tomé & Lima Filho 2010). Jatobá Basin, Serra Negra, in strata correlated to the Crato Formation, upper Aptian ( Tomé et al. 2014). In the present manuscript, it was observed in the Araripe Basin, Romualdo Formation, upper Aptian.
