Coptorrhynchus wolterecki Günther, 1938: 39–40 . Type locality: Sangihe besar.

Description. Lectotype ( Fig. 36a View FIGURE 36 ). Length. Pronotum plus elytron 6.20 mm. Legs ferruginous. Rostrum ca. as long as wide (1.00 X). Pronotum 0.92 X as long as wide. Elytra 1.40 X as long as wide; with rows of inconspicuous subrecumbent scales; intervals with smaller or larger patches of white, densely overlapping scales. Abdomen. Male ventrites 1–2 at middle weakly concave, subglabrous, sublaterally densely squamose; ventrites 3–5 subglabrous, ventrites 4–5 with transverse row of erect setae. Genitalia. Penis ( Fig. 36b View FIGURE 36 ).Apodeme 1.8 X as long as body of penis. Intraspecific variation. Length. Pronotum plus elytron 6.64–8.16 mm. Female ventrites 3–5 retracted, hardly visible in ventral aspect; female ventrite 3 forming sharp ridge, ventrite 4 forming tongue-shaped process overlapping ventrite 5.

Material examined. Type specimens. Male , lectotype by present designation: INDONESIA, Sangihe : Taroena, Woltereck, “35” 1939; labels ( Fig. 36c View FIGURE 36 ); condition: fair; formerly pinned through right elytron; genitalia in glycerol in microtube; DNA extraction ARC7288 View Materials (GenBank # OR557457) ( SMTD) . Paralectotypes: 12 exx, same data as lectotype ( SMTD); 3 exx, Sangihe , Siaoe, Kapete ( SMTD) .

Notes. Günther (1938) based the original description on 21 specimens from different localities of Sangihe Island ; he did not designate a holotype. Sixteen specimens fitting his description were found at SMTD. A lectotype is designated to ensure stability of nomenclature .
