Lectotype male. Here designated. Label data (6): "Type, E. orphnogenes View in CoL "; "Musée du Congo, Rutshuru, ix.1937, J. Ghesquière, 5207"; " R. Dét, QQ, 3377"; "M5537"; " Lectotype, Eucosma orphnogenes, Meyrick View in CoL (male), Genital prep., 98051 L. Aarvik "; " RMCA / KMMA 00320 View Materials "; specimen ID: RMCA ENT 000005000 View Materials ( Fig. 38).
Paralectotype female. Label data (4): "Type, E. orphnogenes "; "Musée du Congo, Rutshuru, ix.1937, J. Ghesquière, 5207"; " R. Dét, QQ, 3377"; "M5538". [Not dissected]; specimen ID: RMCA ENT 000005001 View Materials .
Male genitalia ( Fig. 82). Shoulders of uncus large with lateral, rounded projections; uncus two acute processes distinctly separated from one another; valva broad basally, neck weakly developed; sacculus simple, convex; cucullus with reduced ventral lobe armed with spines, broad, convex ventrocaudlly, slender in terminal portion; aedeagus long, slender posteriorly.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 108). Papilla analis slender; apophyses slender, rather long; sterigma broad with median sclerotized structure; sclerite of antrum long, moderately strong posteriorly, distictly so proximally where resembling a cingulum; remaining ductus bursae large; signa two large blades.
Remarks. Described from 3 specimens (male and female), the male lectotype and an undissected female paralectotype in the collection of RMCA. Another paralectotype in bad condition is in BMNH (K. Tuck, pers. comm.). The lectotype was selected by Aarvik in 1998 but was not published until the present paper. The female genitalia are described from a specimen not belonging to the type series with the following labels: "Musée du Congo, Rutshuru, ix.1937, J. Ghesquière, 5311", "Genital prep. 98053, L. Aarvik, Eucosma orphnogenes, Meyrick (female), teste L. Aarvik, 1998"; "MRAC/KMMA 00322"; specimen ID: RMCA ENT 000005002. The male possesses a long hairpencil from lateral folds in the abdominal base which is an indication of its generic position ( Horak 2006).
