Eccopsis trixiphias ( Meyrick, 1939) View in CoL ( Figs 29, 74, 103)
Argyroploce trixiphias Meyrick, 1939 View in CoL .Transactions of the Royal entomological Society of London 89(4): 51. Diakonoff 1981. Annales de la Société entomologique de France (N.S.) 17(1): 16. Brown 2005. World Catalogue of Insects 5: 269.
Lectotype female. Designated by Diakonoff (1981: 16). Label data (7): "Type, A. trixiphias View in CoL "; "Musée du Congo, Eala, ix.1936, J. Ghesquière; 3093"; " Eccopsis incultana (Walk.), 1960 View in CoL , det. A. Diakonoff "; " R. Dét., NN, 3377"; "M5531"; "Gen. No:, 3602"; "3602"; [genitalia mounted on small glass under specimen]; specimen ID: RMCA ENT 000004982 View Materials .
Paralectotype male. Label data (4): "Type, A. trixiphias "; "Musée du Congo, Eala, ix.1936, J. Ghesquière; 3093"; " R. Dét., NN, 3377"; "M5532"; " MRAC / KMMA 00500 View Materials "; specimen ID: RMCA ENT 000004983 View Materials ( Fig. 29) .
Male genitalia ( Fig. 74). Uncus broad, cleft; socius long, apically rounded; basal process of valva developed, terminally broad, cucullus large, basally very broad, narrow at apex, lower edge with row of spines; aedeagus slender, curved, dorsally sclerotized and with apical dent.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 103). Sterigma in form of a plate followed by pair of lateroposterior arms; antrum long, tubular, heavily sclerotized; signum with a terminally bifid blade.
Remarks. Described from 3 specimens, of which 1 male and 1 female are present in the collection of RMCA. Agroploce trixiphias Meyrick, 1939 is a junior subjective synonym of Eccopsis incultana Walker, 1863 , synonymized by Diakonoff (1981: 16). The third specimen was supposed to be in BMNH, however, it was not found there (K. Tuck, pers. comm.).
Brown (2005: 269) states that the holotype is in RMCA. Meyrick deposited one male and one female specimen in the collection of RMCA. In his paper (1939: 51), he indicated "Type in Congo Museum, Tervueren, Belgium " but he labelled both specimens as type. Diakonoff (1981: 16), acting as first revisor, selected the female as the holotype (recte lectotype) .
