Rubidograptis praeconia ( Meyrick, 1937) View in CoL , comb. n. ( Figs 4, 52, 91)

Argyrotoxa praeconia Meyrick, 1937 View in CoL . Exotic Microlepidoptera 5 (5): 129.

Polemograptis praeconia: Razowski 1966 . World Fauna of Tortricini View in CoL : 66.

Russograptis praeconia: Brown 2005 View in CoL . World Catalogue of Insects 5: 541.

Lectotype female. Here designated. Label data (6): "Type A. praeconia View in CoL "; "Musée du Congo, Eala, iii.1936, 2246, J. Ghesquière "; " G. S. 7706 ♀, Polemograptis View in CoL , praeconia View in CoL M., J. Razowski"; " R. Dét, YY, 3257"; "M5322"; " MRAC / KMMA 00344 View Materials "; specimen ID: RMCA ENT 000004923 View Materials .

Paralectotype female. Label data (4): "Type A. praeconia "; "Musée du Congo, Eala, v.1936, 2584, J. Ghesquière "; " R. Dét, YY, 3257"; "M5323". [Not dissected]; specimen ID: RMCA ENT 000004924 View Materials ( Fig. 4) .

Male genitalia ( Fig. 52). Vinculum and tegumen slender, together forming a circle; socius large, oval; transtilla a spined band; gnathos absent; valva slender, curved, slightly widened distally; juxta large; aedeagus short and broad, bent medially, vesica with broad cornutus and numerous minute spines.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 91). Papilla analis slender; sterigma submembranous, broad, rounded proximally; ductus bursae short; ductus seminalis originating in distal part of corpus bursae; signum long with broad basal plate.

Remarks. Described from 3 specimens (1♂ and 2♀). Although Brown (2005: 541) mentions a lectotype, such a designation was never formally published. The male paralectotype is in BMNH (slide no. 9896) (K. Tuck, pers. comm.). The male genitalia are illustrated from a specimen not belonging to the type series with the following labels: "Musée du Congo, Eala, 24.vii.1935, J. Ghesquière, 724"; "R. dét., N, 3057"; "MRAC/ KMMA 00501"; specimen ID: RMCA ENT 000005140. The male genitalia show that the species belongs to the genus Rubidograptis Razowski, 1981 , and is closely related to its type species, R. regulus Razowski, 1981 , described from Nigeria, cf. Razowski (1981, figs. 22, 23).
