Lectotype (Cook in Bot. Jahrb. Syst. 107: 272. 1985): Amman 31, Herb. Linn. No. 1095.2 ( LINN) .

Current name: Sparganium natans L. ( Sparganiaceae ).

Note: This name had been rejected as a nomen ambiguum by a number of authors (see Cook in Watsonia 5: 7. 1961 for a summary). However, Cook took up the Linnaean name in typifying it in 1985 (see also Cook & Nicholls in Bot. Helvetica 96: 234. 1986).
