HOLOTYPE: AMNH 237071 About AMNH , adult male, collected at Arabopó (5 Arabupu), 4200 ft, 05.06N, 60.44W ( Paynter, 1982), 13 km southeast of Mount Roraima, Bolívar, Venezuela, on 7 January 1928, by T. Donald Carter (no. 1250) on the Lee Garnett Day Expedition. GoogleMaps
COMMENTS: Chapman cited the AMNH number of the holotype in the original description and listed two specimens examined. Unfortunately , the sex symbols were reversed ; only two specimens were collected, the male holotype and a female from Paulo. The paratype is: AMNH 237070 About AMNH , female, Paulo, 11 km southeast of Mount Roraima, 29 October 1927, by Carter (no. 468). Chapman (1931) discussed and compared the upper zonal birdlife of mounts Roraima and Duida and gave an itinerary for the Day Expedition with photographs of the localities where roraimae was collected .
