Notes
The species lives in ancient wood pastures, in beech, ash, willow, and alder trees. It is usually found in the burrows of stag beetles Dorcus parallelipipedus in the moist crumbly decaying heartwood; although it has also been recorded with Sinodendron cylindricum and ant species such as Lasius brunneus ( Alexander 2002).
